To Regain Your Health When you heat food above body temperature you destroy the micronutrients and enzymes. By the age of 40 most people eating a standard American diet (eating cooked food) are 70% enzyme depleted. This means we become vulnerable to allergies, bacteria and viruses. Our energy levels drop, we experience aches and pains and poor eyesight. In our society this is considered a normal part of the ageing process but in mostly raw food societies these things don't happen and people stay healthier for much longer.
To Heal Your Body Valya Boutenko's short documentary film 'Reversing the Irreverable' interviews many people who found a cure for their illnesses through the raw food diet. They talk about how they no longer needed to take the medicines prescribed to them by their doctors and this included individuals who regained their health having had illnesses including cancer, heart disease, obesity, arthritis, osteoporosis, ADHD, schizophrenia, chronic migraines, eczema, asthma, depression, moles, warts and type II diabetes. There is research showing that the raw food vegan diet can positively impact rheumatoid arthritis, obesity, fybromyalgia, reduce bad cholesterol levels, increase nutrient intake and suppress cancer growth.
To Lose Weight Many people who become raw do so to regain a healthy weight. When you start on a raw food diet you can eat as much as you want as often as you want and you will still lose weight. You can eat avocados and nuts and delicious sweet deserts. You will never feel hungry, you will always feel full and satisfied and the extra weight you've carried around for years will drop off to reveal the healthy beautiful you that has always been there!

To Help the Environment Raw food comes in it's own packaging designed by mother nature. Most of the waste coming out of a raw food kitchen is organic, compostable and quickly biodegrades. You will greatly reduce the amount of waste you produce because raw food does not come in plastic packaging, cans or jars!
In addition, the raw food diet that we are discussing does not include meat, eggs or dairy. This alone has a significant impact on reducing your carbon footprint. The meat, egg and dairy industries use far more natural resources per pound of food and pollute the environment a great deal more than the industries producing fruits and veggies.
In addition it is recommended to eat organic fruits and vegetables if you are on a raw food diet because it is not only healthier for your body to avoid ingesting pesticides but healthier and a more sustainable practice for the environment not to pollute our valuable soil and farmland with pesticides. And organic fruits and veggies taste better too! :-)
